Research Test Stands
There are six research test stands located at the Louisiana Solar Energy Lab. The purpose of these is to test the effectiveness of these technologies in Louisiana and provide education and training opportunities
Bifacial PV
Bifacial PV test stands are oriented in different directions at different tilts to determine the most effective. There are also different colors of gravel covering the ground below these systems to test the effect this has on the ground reflected irradiance reaching the modules
Tracking
Single and dual axis tracking systems track the movement of the sun throughout the day.
Simulated Rooftop
Simulated commercial and residential roof for training and education. These allow for a hands-on experience of installation on both flat and sloped roofs
Concentrating PV
Concentrating PV collector dish with dual axis tracking uses a dish to concentrate the solar energy on a central column of PV cells
